Essay · Goal Setting
Monthly income goals you actually hit
How to set a number you can steer by, not one you just hope for.
Most closers set an income goal the same way they make a New Year's resolution. They pick a big number, feel good for a day, and then never look at it again until the month is over and they either hit it or they did not. A goal you never check is not a goal. It is a wish.
Make the goal a number you steer by
A goal only works if you can see your distance from it at any moment. Not at the end of the month. Today. Right now. When you know you are at 59 percent of your six-month goal with 2,183 dollars left to go, the goal stops being a wish and becomes a steering wheel. You know whether today needs to be a heavy dialing day or whether you are comfortably ahead. You make different decisions when the number is in front of you.
Break it down so it feels reachable
A big annual number is paralyzing. Break it into a monthly goal, then watch your cumulative progress build across the months. Seeing June come in at 104 percent, July at 117, August at 138 does something to your motivation that a distant annual target never will. Each month that clears its bar makes the next one feel possible.
Separate effort from outcome
You control your inputs, your dials, your follow-ups, your preparation. You do not control any single prospect's decision. Set your goal, then judge each day on the inputs and let the tracker show you the outputs adding up. This is how you stay steady on the days the outcomes are slow, because the effort is still landing even when the yeses are not.
See your goal every day
The closers who hit their income goals are not the ones who set the biggest numbers. They are the ones who see their progress every single day and adjust. That is built into CalcuCloser. You set a monthly commission goal and it shows your attainment live, your distance to goal in the currency you get paid in, and your cumulative progress across the months, so the goal is always in front of you instead of forgotten in a note somewhere.
