Show rate

The sales metric quietly killing your commission.

There is a closer somewhere right now blaming their closing for a bad month, drilling objection handling every night, when the real problem is that half their calendar never picked up the phone. That is a show-rate problem wearing a close-rate costume, and it is one of the most expensive blind spots in sales.

What show rate is

Show rate is the percentage of your booked meetings where the prospect actually shows up. If 58 meetings were booked and 4 were no-shows, your no-show rate is about 7 percent and your show rate is 93. Simple to calculate, brutal to ignore.

Why it quietly kills your commission

Your close rate can be excellent, but it only ever applies to meetings that happen. If a third of your calendar ghosts you, you are closing a third fewer deals than your skill deserves, and no amount of objection-handling practice will fix it. You are polishing a skill that never gets used because the prospect was never on the call. Most reps never separate this out. They lump no-shows into one blurry sense of "a slow month" and reach for the wrong fix. Meanwhile the actual leak sits upstream, untouched, month after month.

How to fix a low show rate

Show rate is usually won or lost before the call ever starts. The biggest levers are the gap between booking and the call, and the confirmation sequence in between. A shorter booking-to-call window means less time for the prospect to cool off. A clear day-of reminder, ideally one that reconfirms the value of the call rather than just the time, pulls no-shows down more than anything you say once they are actually on the line. Track it for a month and you will often find your "closing problem" was never a closing problem at all.

See it separately, fix it precisely

The reason show rate stays invisible is that most closers never break it out from close rate. When the two numbers sit side by side, the leak becomes obvious. That is exactly how CalcuCloser shows it. Your show rate and your close rate are calculated separately and live, so you can see in a glance whether the problem is your calendar or your closing, and put your energy where it actually moves the needle.
